Presented through an interesting film that provides detailed visuals and printed lightings, Yasmin Bawa, an honors menswear student from London’s Middlesex University, previews her Spring/Summer Pre-Collection. Entitled “Lattice”, the collection is inspired originally by a photography project named “Family Stuff” by Huang Qingjun and Ma Hongjie. “The project photographs the homes of 50 rural Chinese homes, taking all of their possessions from inside their house and placing it outside. It shows the original artwork and furniture mixed in with modern appliances. “

The collection combines elements from the rural Chinese villages and traditional lattice design artwork with contrast technical elements that achieve modern aesthetic. Imagine hand dying and screen printing to the natural fabrics with modern laser etched prints on cotton drill and leather. The result, oriental Aztec-like patterns gives every shirt some prints to remember.
