Here’s the lookbook of Farah Vintage’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection featuring model Cole Mohr as shot by photographer Gavin Watson. This season, the label took its inspiration from the Ivy League styling of the 50s while combining with 80s youth scene in London. Try to imagine an English punk boy wearing prep school styled pieces, that’s what this collection is all about.

Farah Vintage: The Art of the Hood

Farah Vintage presents its hooded outerwear selection for Autumn/Winter 2010. Arriving in three styles, we have here The Hopkins, The Churchill and The Hemmingway. The Hopkins is a duffel coat made with 100% wool Melton with real leather “football” buttons and storm flap. You can choose to either ‘Atlantic’ tartan or rich midnight blue color styles. The other two – The Churchill and The Hemmingway – are made both with technical elements for a more sympathetic approach to performance outerwear. Both styles are much simpler compared to The Hopkins but the two are made with water resistant features and comes with incredible linings.

Farah Vintage Autumn/Winter 2010 Trousers Collection

We have a prioritized look of Farah Vintage's trousers collection for Autumn/Winter 2010. New styles are in with the arrival of slim fit engineered worker trousers - in cold rinsed cord or brushed cavalry - and Albany tobacco chino - the Autumnal-toned offering quite associated with Summery feel. Completing the collection are the "usual suspects" like the "Mills" flat front hopsack and "Walker" flat front chino for men who can't get enough of timeless classics.

Farah Vintage Autumn/Winter 2010 Preview

Autumn Winter 2010 from Farah Vintage strikes a fine balance between slick, sharp casual wear and sartorial tailoring. This season the focus is on the iconic 80’s - a decade of social unrest, a time when the people needed to be heard, and a young generation dressed as a means of self-expression. A roomier silhouette has been adopted on shirts and jackets, while polos are tailored to the level of shirting to ensure the wearer knows he’s bought something special. Key fabrics have been reissued on trousers, jackets and shirts to give the wearer a taste of history.

The lookbook is even shot by Gavin Watson, an iconic photographer made famous for his candid imagery captured during these times of social unrest in 1980s Britain. Farah Vintage and Gavin made their names in the UK at the same, both in one way or another at the very heart of Britain’s emerging subcultures, misunderstood by the mainstream, Britain’s new multi-cultural melting pot generation. They are the perfect fit.

They say it's a summer piece but I'll be sticking to the seasonal usefulness. This versatile outerwear from Farah Vintage can always pull off a good show in effortless manner. Consider the fact that it's a cotton piece, it could always be repeated every season with layered outfits inside. Just don't make it look baggy though. Capturing my military senses, the epaulets are too good for a double breasted coat. Available through Selfridges and other distributors.
