Late last month, Couverture & The Garbstore played host to Nick Barnes and Mark Down, the creative duo behind the renowned puppet theatre company “Blind Summit”, to stage an in-store event of a compelling contemporary puppetry show. Entitled the “Tramping The Boards”, the intimate performance narrates the tragic-comic tale of an estranged son’s attempt to reconcile with his dying father – a celebrated actor – brought magically to life from a collection of black bin bags and a tartan shopping trolley.

Denham the Jeanmaker London Store Opening

October 21, 2010 |

October 14 marked the opening of Denham’s new flagship store in London with 400 guests flocking at Charlotte Road which includes eminent faces and folks. Reanimating a history-drenched four story warehouse to a hub for Denham in the UK, the building houses full retail store presenting the label’s collection for men and women and also featuring on-site denim repair and alteration services.

Said to be a representation of Jason Denham’s homecoming in the UK, the opening in London, as succeeded by the established Amsterdam and Tokyo stores, is a reconnection of Denham to British tailoring heritage which exerts a steady influence on the brand’s signature approach to detail. Located at the well-known frenetic Shoreditch neighborhood, the creative community which includes design agencies, art galleries and indie shops replicates the old architectures and contemporary energy same as the ones found at the original Amsterdam address.

Lacoste Legends Launch Party

August 16, 2010 |

To celebrate the launch of the LACOSTE Legends project, LACOSTE hosted a glamorous party at Berlin night-spot ‘Stadbad’.

Located in a disused swimming baths in Berlin, the Stadtbad Oderberger was the perfect venue for the Legends event, and was totally transformed that evening into a LACOSTE haven, complete with ‘grass’ tennis court that acted as the dance floor.

A set from project collaborator Stones Throw (DJ James Pants) filled the dance floor with the tracks that made them famous. The music then turned over to Jazzie B, formerly of Soul II Soul, whose rendition of ‘Back to Life’ proved a sensation.

Over 500 people joined the party to celebrate this unique LACOSTE footwear collaboration project and mark the occasion in true legendary style.
