Here’s the seasonal lookbook presentation of French house of Balmain featuring the Spring/Summer 2011 collection lead by Creative Director Christophe Decarnin. The collection is comprised of updated pieces that are on the same route when it comes to effortless and rock influence and key pieces coming from it were slim fit pants, a variety of shirting, and tailored outerwear. The lookbook features model Clement Chabernaud as shot by photographer Karim Sadli.

Balmain Homme S/S 2010 Leather Bomber Jacket

April 18, 2010 |

I haven't been digging out much of Bombers lately but this Balmain version surely tickled my fancy. An indie youngster version of the always versatile outerwear, the jacket is yet another obvious design coming from Decarnin's personal style. I love the combination of the khaki trim on hem, cuffs, and neck with the dyed looking leather of the jacket. Available through Matches.

Balmain goes on with new offerings for their Fall/Winter Homme 2010 colleciton. Grunge look complements tailored outfits and casual pieces. Distressed pants sticks again with the Balmain man along with sharp-shouldered suits. Surprising pieces from the collection includes puffer jacket and denim jacket with shearling to name a few.

Balmain S/S 2010 Camouflage Shirt

January 2, 2010 |

A hangover from Balmain's military sensation, this tee shows the new camouflage shenanigan using leaves and branches as a subject. Pair it with your leather jacket, distressed jeans and striking lace up boots, for sure Christophe Decarnin would be so happy to see you. Now available at Colette.

From the F/W 2009 collection, this leather jacket with fur neck from Balmain has the essence of what Christophe Decarnin has to offer. The rock and "used" concept which signifies the new Balmain man is perfectly crafted in this rebellious look.

Now available at Colette.

Talk about the masculine version of Christophe Decarnin's Balmainia female sensation where rock & roll and military vibe were properly mixed up. This Spring/Summer 2010 collection for Balmain wasn't a soft departure from last season but more of a continuation of what we have seen for the collection of future cold months. There goes the torn effect olive green shirt paired with lighter version of the same palette synonymous to the oversized shirts of S/S 2007 womenswear. I love this kind of collection, but lets face it, this is something that consumers would react negatively, maybe for some instances these have been there before yet revived in other sexual angle. For consideration, the lace-up boots captured the roughness of the collection as well as the sleeveless sweatshirts. Sharp shouldered jackets were the ultimate versatile pieces among others in the collection. Surely WWD is right "This rough, rock ‘n’ roll guy is the perfect arm candy for the sharp-shouldered, short-skirted Balmain girl."
