Lavenham-Autumn/Winter-2011-Collection
Lavenham presents their forthcoming collection for Autumn/Winter 2011 that sees them pushing the boundaries of the traditional quilted outdoor wear by pouring in a good amount of youthful sensibility. "For this collection Lavenham have delved deep into their 40 year old archive to bring a collection inspired by traditional stable workers and of course all things equestrian. Materials used this time around expand into the finest and more refined materials that Britain has to offer with British wools; British Millerain wax and high performance yarn dyed woven polyester."

Mark Mcnairy Belmont Jackets

July 21, 2011 |

Mark-Mcnairy-Belmont-Jackets
As much as I’d like to avoid color blocking, it seems that it’s unbearable to just check out one and see if it’s actually “wearable”. Just like these Belmont Jackets by Mark Mcnairy. I’ll definitely admit the blue and purple combo is a perfect color marriage. Garbstore stocks these exclusive colorways for £245 each.

Sixpack France Old Copper Jacket

June 14, 2011 |

Sixpack-France-Old-Copper-Jacket
For many purposes, jackets are quite mostly donned for affairs of vanity and functionality. Yeah, vanity is such an effeminate term but as much as I’d like to disagree, it’s something that we men hate to swallow. We mostly use jacket for topping off an inside shirt that would accentuate our look or just by simply protecting ourselves from the natural forces of the nature. But, for this exceptional beauty, an Old Copper Jacket by Sixpack France, it’s something that I’d like to keep and just use it for some not-so-often activities. A weekend travel perhaps? Grab it at Glass Boutique.

Musto Spring/Summer 2011 Offshore Retro Jacket

May 28, 2011 |

Musto-Offshore-Retro-Jacket
If you remember 90s R&B group MN8 rocking this type of jacket, well your memory is just outstanding. The color blocking in gold, red and peacock blue brings in the nostalgic feel of the 90s but this jacket is not all about how it’s known for. But instead, this jacket reminds us that Musto is not a strict nautical label.

The Offshore Retro Jacket (£200) available at Musto.

Post Overalls Mattalini Quilted Jacket

February 3, 2011 |

Post-Overalls-Mattalini-Quilted-Jacket
You may have seen the original version of the Mattalini jacket on other men’s fashion blogs but this quilted version shouldn’t miss a spot here at THESOUTHSIDER. I always love the appeal of quilted pieces, specially the diamond patterns and the puffiness that it brings. Well this jacket is beautiful and I prefer this to be worn on a simpler approach. Meaning, just the avoid layering before this and don’t be afraid to close all the buttons. Now available at Garbstore.

Barbour 75th Anniversary Original Jacket

December 22, 2010 |

Known for its historic outdoor clothing and well recognized durability, Barbour’s 75 year legacy flares up with the revival of its iconic International jacket that pays homage to the brand’s role in motorcycling history. “The first Barbour International Jacket was created specifically for the 1936 International Six Day Trials, which is where the name came from. Like all the best designed stuff, the form of the original International followed the function and it became ubiquitous amongst professional motorcyclists through the 1950s, 60s and 70s. The International was even favoured by actor and King of Cool - Steve McQueen, not to mention the legendary stunt rider Bud Ekins, whose famous fence leap in The Great Escape remains etched in our minds.”

The 75th Anniversary Original Jacket is available in two finishes – olive and distressed olive. You can get it at Oi Polloi.

Seen on a unique presentation through lifestyle shots, we give credit to photographer Neil Bedford on these beautiful imageries featuring the new 6876 Brecon jacket. The aforementioned jacket is a modernist parka style with large lower bellows pockets and curved half bellows zip breast pocket that comes in 2 colors using different fabrics. “Khaki colour is made from M.O.D approved since 1783, Worsted Barathea 375 gram wool, custom made Japanese pine bark quilted lining and manufactured in England.Very limited production of which the Barathea is exclusive to the 6876 site… The navy is made from cotton gabardine twill with PU coating, which makes it water repellant.” You can get both jackets at the 6876 webstore in limited numbers.
