Known chiefly for their incredible denim, and increasingly in recent seasons, the ever-popular SDA Loopwheel sweats, Studio D'Artisan show that while you may have stashed away your 14oz selvedge denim for the summer already, there are some truly quality warm-weather alternatives on offer from their Spring Summer collection.

Chino's are surely the gentleman's alternative to quality denim, yet these darker Olive green ones provide a rugged familiarity fans of SDA will already be accustomed to whilst providing a healthy alternative to the 'malaise of beige' on offer this time of year. Built for hard-graft and exposure to the natural elements allow them to dry in the hot sun to really see this top quality fabric come into its own.

Another top quality work shirt from SDA hits the mark in every department. A rich and luxurious chambray fabric combined with triple chain stitching throughout right the way down to the runaway threads at the hem and selvedge trim confirm this as a classic summertime piece with fantastic attention to detail brought to the fore.

The T-shirts are again instantly recognizable for their quality and no less so in this Polo. A slightly heavier brushed cotton gives the simplicity of a Polo it's intrinsic value, with the subtle Pig 'Buta' embroidered into the chest pocket.

Mister Freedom at Superdenim

May 27, 2010 |

Here's a great supplier of pure vintage offerings that will undeniably fascinate diggers of oldies-but-goodies stuff.

Mister Freedom is the brain child of Christophe Loiron, owner of the 3200sq ft Hollywood based retail space of vintage clothing, footwear and accessories from the 1850's to the present. Filled with everything from depression era workwear and Madras haberdashery to Tropical colonial garb and Naval and Military uniforms, the Mister Freedom full line of clothing is a collaboration between this massive inventory of product from throughout the lexicons of clothing history and Japanese manufacturing experts Sugar Cane Co. made in both Japan and the USA.

'Workwear' and revivalist 'heritage' inspired products are understandably associated with quality, durability and unparalleled construction, and these elements are produced in no uncertain terms throughout the Mister Freedom collection. For those lazy summer days there's no reason to dispel such components from your style equation, epitomized no less by the SC Union Tee. Made from 100% Cotton, this mid-weight tubular jersey, with natural cotton front placket, is based upon a 1930's style European Undershirt Henley and features fabric covered buttons underarm gusset.

These original Mister Freedom Sugar Cane Co. pattern chinos made with United States Air Force spec fabric come in a sand colour and are based on the 1930's mid-rise style slacks made popular during the American gold rush era and beyond. The pocket bags are lined with cotton ticking fabric and two slash pockets adorn the front and back of the garment. Ankle pockets are a key Mister Freedom Sugar Cane Co. feature and can easily be worn turned up. The waist is lined with metal suspender buttons and side cinch straps. These are made with raw cotton chino and look amazing after a wash and dry in the hot midday sun.
