Kris-Van-Assche-Misericordia
Recently, Kris Van Assche and Misericordia have collaborated to design an exclusive t-shirt for Japan. Their mission is to generate profits that will support the relief efforts of the Japanese Red Cross with regards to the ongoing help to those who are affected by the tragic tsunami happening last March 2011. The design of the t-shirt highlights the statement “HOPE & LOVE WILL SAVE US”, a message coming from Kris Van Assche himself. The shirt is now available exclusively at thecorner.com.

On its fourth destination, thecorner.com alongside Fantastic Man has reached Berlin to be included in their “Styling Around the World” feature. This curated photo shoot calls upon the talent of a stylist or magazine in different major cities throughout the world armed with a wardrobe of the latest designer pieces from thecorner.com. “For this year’s edition, Fantastic Man created a spread featuring a handful of remarkable men from Berlin, a city teeming with artists and professionals of every kind who are each unique in their own way. An actor, an entrepreneur, a choreographer and a doctor among others are the protagonists of this story where the central theme revolves around men of substance and style.”

Japanese designer Jun Takahashi, the man behind the brand Undercover, have recently designed a limited edition t-shirt exclusively for thecorner.com. Taking over the past designers’ projects, which include Hussein Chalayan, Les Hommes and Neil Barrett, Undercover’s Takahashi plays with the website's logo and pays respect to the Black and White colorway that makes up the graphic essence of the online store. Here’s what Jun Takahashi has to say about his design: “Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious wore this necklace until he died. My Mona Lisa wears the same one. I dedicate this t-shirt to all the rebels out there.” Check it out here.

October 2010 sees the debut of the up-and-coming menswear designer Umit Benan on thecorner.com with his own “mini store” showcasing his Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. Named Retired Rockers, the offerings are inspired by a group of musicians who made music history in the 70s and 80s, “once young and wild kids with no direction beyond rousing an entire generation to a blaring rock beat”. Referencing to the legendary band, The Rolling Stones, the style is “relaxed, free and easy, and definitely classy,” tells the cosmopolitan designer.

Hedi Slimane "I Love USA" Film

On its second installment of its ‘fashion film’ series, thecorner.com presents to us an exclusive chronophotography by former Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane which was debuted last 10-10-2010. The film ‘I Love USA’ is “Slimane’s idealistic vision of the United States through the prism of the idyllic Californian lifestyle. The premise is simple: Sidney and Wolf are two teenagers who meet for the first time in Venice beach. The teens in the film were both scouted by Slimane at the Coachella rock festival, in 2009 and 2010, respectively; they meet for the first time on the set.”

Giuliano Fujiwara Limited Edition Tee

Debuting its e-commerce venture on thecorner.com, Giuliano Fujiwara introduces a limited edition shirt in accordance with the good announcement. "The white cotton t-shirt is decorated with tiny sketches of geometrical shapes, which seem to flow like on the screen of a video-game and recall the necklaces with cubes and wire from Spring/Summer 2010." Hussein Chalayan Home Tote Bag

In support of the PPR HOME project, Hussein Chalayan is introducing a printed tote bag depicting endangered and extinct animals. HOME is a non-profit making initiative with the sole objective to increase wider awareness and sense of responsibility towards the planet. "The environment we are living in has been a leitmotiv theme throughout my career. It felt completely natural to join forces and create that tote bag for the HOME project. I wanted something with a very simple and obvious message that speaks to everyone." Hussein Chalayan. Proceeds from the sale will be entirely donated to Good Planet, the environmental association founded by photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
