T-post & Monster Engine T-shirt

July 21, 2011 |

Here's an interesting story.

T-post the world's first wearable magazine hires 4-year old artist and his comic book illustrator dad for Gulf oil spill interpretation.

Aiden DeVries is the 4-year old son of Dave DeVries, an award-winning illustrator and creator of the book, The Monster Engine. If you've ever wondered what a child's drawing would look like if painted by a professional illustrator, you're about to find out. For more information on The Monster Engine, please visit http://www.themonsterengine.com

T-post works a lot like a magazine subscription. Every five weeks, subscribers from over 50 countries receive a new issue/t-shirt in the mail. The offbeat news story is printed on the inside back of the shirt. And a graphic artist's interpretation of that news story is printed on the front. For subscribers, the comment "Nice shirt" now becomes an invitation to tell the story behind the design and create dialogue about an interesting world event.

One-of-a-Tee
Uniqueness sets us apart from other people around. It dictates our authenticity and graces us as a person depending on how well we handle it. For fashion/clothing, some wouldn’t wear clothes that are of the same style with others. Mostly, these people would get a piece of clothing from far places just to assure themselves that they wouldn’t end up seeing the same clothing to others.

One shirting label that’s opting to promote uniqueness over their designs is Sweden’s ONE of a TEE. Their online database assures you that the shirt you get from them is the only piece in the place you live in. Remember, uniqueness is their concern and it all depends on how you handle their tees.

ONE of a TEE updates their collection with five new tees every six weeks. The styles of the shirts are different but all of which comes from the same design theme. Check their “5 Sneaker Lacing” collection below.

Denim-Gallery-Biarritz

55DSL-Alex-Fakso-Fast-or-Die-Tee
55DSL and prominent skate photographer Alex Fakso have collaborated to create 6 amazing tees with pictures and graphics taken from the Fakso’s photographic project - “Fast or Die”.

Fast or Die is Alex Fakso’s new photographic project, which comes to life after five years of travelling around the world, from London to the US, and as far as Russia and Japan. Metropolitan narratives immortalized in 60 shots: portraits of people running, taking the subway, sleeping on docks, sneaking into tunnels. This time Fakso expands his view beyond graffiti and tracks a robust framework of the metropolitan scenario embracing the people who inhabit it. Images of ordinary people, common people plunged into the underground chaos : Fast or Die is a powerful photo strip describing the world through the subways - a report of the contemporary underground

Fast or Die will be available together with tees in selected 55DSL stores worldwide on the e-shop, www.damianieditore.it, and on www.fakso.com.

Dickies White Tee Pack

April 26, 2011 |

Dickies-White-Tees

Faith-Fanzine-Original-Store
Collaboration means something else rather than limited runs of shirts or tees. This time, Faith Fanzine and Original Store pushed through a project that’s not worth to be missed. Coming with, of course, t-shirt with ‘Black Cowboy’ print, this collaborative tie-up also has a mix CD by Faith’s and Boy’s Own Terry Farley and Jimmy P. All are limited to 100 pieces.

Here are the words from Mr. Farley.

The disturbed world that is Faithfanzine has a bi-polar outlook on life. We see things differently from just about everyone else out there, from obsessions with House music graffitti on central London bus shelters, collectiong rare Ron Hardy teapot sets, to the legend that is Black Cowboys. House music started over a hundred years ago in Texas when, after a hard day's graft on the range' the Black Cowboys would dance around a camp fire with gay abandon to the beat of a kick drum being struck on a wagon wheel (not the chocolate kind). The Black Cowboy t-shirt was a tribute to those pioneers whose influence we still tip our hats to today.
