La Panoplie at Number Six London

Putting in good stocks for this season, London’s Number Six includes to their roster of brands this French label called La Panoplie. Specializing in outdoor wares, La Panoplie is a label mixing “contemporary French fashion and culture with an urban spirit in order to create a modern, elegant and distinctive masulne wardrobe.” The offerings include a great variation of jackets that are made from cotton and chambray, while beautiful 3/4 sleeved henleys sums up the released bunch.

Oliver-Spencer-Spring/Summer-2011
Dropping off some pieces that comes with clean cut and casual appeal, Oliver Spencer’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection are now available at Number Six London. A highlight from the offerings is the unique “Fisher” jacket that is a reinterpretation of Oliver’s classic outerwear he uses for fishing back in the 80s. Check out the fine assortment of menswear below.

Libertine-Libertine-at-Number-Six
The Spring/Summer 2011 collection of Libertine-Libertine officially drops at Number Six with various selections of men’s tops. Mostly offered from the range are a variety of tees but one thing got me interested about this bunch is the inclusion of the colorful and Spring-ish camo howl shirt. All that and more, just check out the imageries below then head on to #6.

Mark-McNairy-New-England-Two-Tone-Saddle-Shoes
Dropping exclusively at Number Six London are the new Mark McNairy Two Tone Saddle Shoes. Designed in America and made in Northampton, England, the shoes comes with nubuck leather saddles, a contrast feature that is seen in either navy or charcoal. Topping off the shoes are the Goodyear welt and hard rubber dainite red brick sole. Get it here.

adidas Originals Hiking Boots

These boots kind of bring a Native American feel, which is so appealing to me. Made from suede and mesh uppers, this also comes with flexible lug sole, hook and d-ring lace eyelets. It’s actually a hybrid of running shoes and hiking boots, with an Adidas twist. What more can you ask for? Available at Number Six London. (£80)

"In Country" Vietnam Exhibition at Number Six London

Number Six London stages an exhibition of mixed media artist Oliver Twisted named, “In Country” Vietnam. The exhibit focuses on Vietnam War, featuring six unique photomontage prints that captures the moment back at the period of political unrest back home, a time of freedom of speech the black movement, Jefferson Airplane was playing on the radio and experimental narcotic use was rife amongst the young. Previewing you of these beautiful and arresting visuals that are now on display, you might want to catch the exhibition at Number Six London which will run until February of next year.

Here’s a goody good news, Barbour x Tokihito Yoshida presents their fourth collaborative tie-up and it’s all about the beacon heritage range this time. Equipped with pure, unique and detail-rich jackets, the channeling of Barbour’s military, sporting and motorcycling heritage gives an interesting punch to the Spring/Summer 2011 madness. Scanning through the offerings, I thought I have found love at the stone bonded summer bicycle jacket and the olive motorbike shirt.

The collection is available at select retailers and Number Six has them for pre-order which started last November 16 and will be handed over on January 2011.

Grenson X Number Six Hampstead Boot

Working closely for old American Work boot inspired footwear, Grenson collaborates with Number Six London to offer this beautiful “Hampstead Boot”. To further go with details, “this fully calf lined apron-fronted Gibson boot is made from brown Scotch grain calf, hand-burnished up to 3 times. Brass eyelets have been used with 2 ski hook fastenings as well, and it has a natural leather welt with a white light weight vibram sole.” Coming in limited quantities, you can get this through here.

Calabrese Pompeii & Vesuvio Bags

Exclusivity means limitedness to a particular shop, and Number Six London is so proud to present to us new drops of Calabrese bags. Impressive as always, the signature canvas plus the leather tones have always been a basis for remembrance when we say “Calabrese”. The shapes and colourways are in classic approach and it is being accentuated also by subtle little details which would include lock and key fastening. Available here.

It's a special evening this Thursday (26th August) at Number Six London as the purveyors of quality menswear and casuals clothing hosts an exhibit of Amanda Langford's "Wet Women".

In 1988 Amanda Langford had an exhibition at the Poisson Rouge restaurant in St. Martin French West Indies, entitled WET WOMEN. 22 years later the original slides are found in the attic of her Miami home, some of only a handful of slides which she kept on her travels. These slides travelled to London with her son, and found their way onto a plethora of cutting edge design & photography blogs. Amanda’s eye for vibrant colours and composition coupled with an appreciation for the late 80’s/ Early 90’s aesthetic, makes this an entirely relevant exhibition.

With an 8-piece offering from their premium limited edition capsule collection, the Beacon Heritage range features an outstanding line up of men's outerwear.

Tokihito is renowned for his meticulous focus on detail and feel for country functionality and he effortlessly blends Barbour’s distinctive style with his own. Highlights for this season include the waxed Military jacket with its seemingly endless pockets and the Field jacket, a Barbourised army classic paying homage to the brand’s military heritage.

Just a tip: (To avoid disappointment BUYERS are advised to get in there early and pre-order. These are cracking jackets and pretty tough to get hold of.)

Filson's New Line of Bags

We see cool drops of new bags from Filson featuring three styles - the briefcase, the field bag, and the rucksack. Made from 100% cotton twill with genuine bridle leather straps and buckle detailing, the bags are oil finished summing up the sophisticated looks. Now available at Number Six.

Born in 1850, CC Filson inherited his father's pioneer spirit and love of the outdoors. After homesteading in Nebraska and roaming the country as a railroad conductor, he moved to the small city of Seattle, Washington, just in time for the Great Klondike Gold Rush of 1897.

He owned his own mill and manufactured Mackinaw clothing, Mackinaw blankets and knit goods, as well as selling boots, shoes and moccasins, continually improving his goods to meet his customer's specific needs. In that era, clothing wasn't a matter of choice, but of survival.

Filson continued to make tough, comfortable outdoor clothing for hunters and fishermen, engineers and explorers, using the best materials obtainable, with his name soon becoming synonymous with reliability and satisfaction.

Filson's motto "Might as well have the best", continues through to this very day.
