studiohomme: Wanted

Here's my monthly update to the new looks featured at the editorial corner at studiohomme. This November sees a smarter appeal with the essence of streetwear that is consist of the in house branded pieces. Shot in a black and white approach, Franck Mura does the photography and the stylish French team dresses and sums up the look of the model.

studiohomme: Gimme Shelter

This month's photo series from studiohomme is inspired by The Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter". In Summary, the couple spends a love time in a cocoon space and protects each other from the aggressiveness of the world. On the images shot by Franck Mura, you'll be seeing underwear, cotton shirts and several knitted garments taken from the brands that are available at the online store.

Barnabé Hardy Origami Cardigan

Out with the leather, in with the wool. The coveted jackets by Barnabé Hardy were to-die-for but here's another execution of versatility seen from a fresh fresh piece. Coming in "Virgin" wool fabric, this cardigan features geometrical prints in a combination of red, white, black and several shades of grey. studiohomme: Casa Nova

The September photo series of studiohomme features this "Casa Nova" concept with pieces provided by brands such as Melinda Gloss, Adam Kimmel, and Acne, just to name a few. Inspired by two senses, the series is based on both the typical Parisian apartment and the young romantic Thibault Veller shot by Franck Mura and groomed by Jérôme Caron.

Philippe Alvergne Navy Three Quarter Trench Coat

When there's something else jumping off plain features, that's the time I confirm my admiration for a particular item. Take for example this navy three quarter trench coat in cotton gabardine by Philippe Alvergne. Taking outerwear as a serious matter, studiohomme's newest photo series featured a full monochrome shoot focusing on wool cardigans complementing winter holiday season. Selecting pieces from U-ni-ty, Kitsuné, Pringle of Scotland, Arne & Carlos, Melinda Gloss and Commune de Paris, I love the wool cardigan with patchwork details along with the double breasted style.

Studiohomme's newest editorial features an interesting story "Reflection" by photographer Franck Mura. Combining with the model's own white shirt and distressed pants, studiohomme's selection of coats from Tremblay Alvergne, Melinda Gloss, U-ni-ty, and Alexis Mabille went well along with a double feature from window to studio shoot.

Bass Larson and Logan Weejuns Loafers

Modern loafers have evolved today with some coming in youthful approach with innovative materials, it goes to show that we have a lot of options. Staying what has been popularize by some noted individuals during their heydays from 60's to 80's like Miles Davis, James Dean and even Michael Jackson, the loafers from Bass just stayed its way of being beautiful even time passed by so quickly. The classic Logan and Larson Weejuns design looking versatile as always could be used as a perfect weekend getaway loafer or a dinner shoe that complements that sharp looking shirts.

Here's the new Pyrenex collection by Alexis Mabille found at studiohomme. Showing some cool puffed jackets and vests perfectly created for winter season, i just loved the fact that some of the designs that were always seen in leather material including the down bad and down shark styles came in a very interesting glossy fabric. TheSouthSider Style Inspiration: Rag & Bone Fall/Winter 2009

Here i am motivated again to put up a style inspiration that features not only stars but also looks coming in from "it" runway shows. Scanning through the archives of Fall 2009 of Men.Style (Spring 2010 rules the site today anyway), I never had this "closed-door" eye sighting for Rag & Bone, so I decided to choose one look from their modern Japanese street wear style.

Browsing for perfect counterparts, I immediately rushed in to Oak site and looked for some stocks from Harmon and was delighted to see a pair of a black fisherman pants on the site, so I thought it would be great for substitution for Rag & Bone's Ninja trousers. As seen in "New Items" selection of Oak, there goes the perfect black layered overcoat that has dual function. Just unzip to the middle and it would look like a vest paired in coat. To pair up with layered coat, I thought that a Kitsuné classic shirt found at Studiohomme would be great for the look. Lastly, boots perfectly fit in to the look since the fisherman pants weren't lengthy enough so this Red Wings black chrome leather boot found at Blackbird Ballard would be the real deal.

Prominent Parisian PR, Jacques Shu, is studiohomme's guest for this month selecting pieces from the Fall/Winter 2009 collection of brands Kitsuné, Ruby, Pierre Hardy, Melinda Gloss, Barnabe Hardy, Commune de Paris and Alexis Mabille for a photo shoot. Shot in a typical apartment in Saint-Germain des Près, garnering an atmosphere of French classic style with the combination of modern Parisian clothing, Jacques Shu is raging fire on this photo shoot.
