Won-Hundred-James-Pfaff
Won Hundred turns from their usual lookbook presentation to a more artistically inclined approach as they commission British photographer James Pfaff for a curated series of imagery for Fall/Winter 2011 campaign. The photographer was given an opportunity to express his craft liberally and resulted to an inimitable understanding through the Danish brand’s inspiration – “Living a clean life under difficult circumstances”. Set up to an exhibition that recently happened right at Outside World Gallery, the shared aesthetics and the strategic location has properly amalgamated with the arts and commerce vibe.

Won Hundred Autumn/Winter 2010 Lookbook

May 14, 2010 |

The Won Hundred Autumn/Winter collection is inspired by the straight lines and hard shapes from cubist art, combined with the soft and natural influences from collage art of the same era. Materials like wood, paper and all sorts of found objects are glued and taped together. While black, grey and white are key, this seasons colours range from spice brown to a dark duffel bag green accented by a washed out aubergine and muted jade green.

Using qualities such as coated cotton gives a draped dress a paper-like finish. Small amounts of metal spun in cotton yarn makes a bomber jacket look worn and creased.
Washed and soft qualities transforms oversized squared shapes into feminine dresses. Double layered shirts tucked into corduroy trousers lend a little heritage style with a modern twist.

The tailored suit is back with minimalistic lines both for men and women. Calf length classic overcoats make a statement this season alongside oversized cardigans in wool, worn together
with deconstructed shirts. Besides the main collection Won hundred also goes back to its denim roots this season, with some new perfectly tailored models and washes. The shoe collection has also been expanded with a broader range of shoes in leather, nubuck and suede.

With his dedication for jeans, Won Hundred's Creative Director Nikolaj Nielsens have gotten himself to his career satisfaction with the help of his passion. Passing through several other brands and with nearly 20 years of involvement in denim, his great role for Won Hundred, without a doubt, is indeed expected. Now, with the approached of Urban Outfitters buying director Lee Grace in submitting a design for a collaboration, Nikolaj Nielsens have properly exemplified the Won Hundred philosophy and aesthetic at the same time blended well the U.O. whole package.
