Raf-Simons-Transmission-1
Raf Simons is curating an event in collaboration with Mecedes-Benz titled “Transmission 1” and Hero Magazine recently had a good quick chat with the Belgian designer himself. This event is a 3 day multi-disciplinary festival which takes place in Berlin from 15th of July till 17th. Invited guests are people coming in from various different creative fields which include artists Peter Saville and Peter De Potter; writer, editor and creative director Jo-Ann Furniss, Industrial designer Konstantin Grcic, and choreographer Michael Clark, just to name a few.

"For me, Transmission 1 is a very exciting project as it's unexpected and not so logical," Raf pinpoints. "Maybe it's not what people would want me to do and it's what they can criticise – and that's why I find it interesting. It's almost more interesting at this stage [of my career] to do something like this than to curate some major art show for a respected museum. This is more challenging. And it's supposed to entertain people.

Made by James West and Fabien Kruszelnicki, there is a new magazine that will cater your needs in search for the upcoming "it guys" of modeling. "HERO is a London based magazine that debuts the Next Big Thing: the models that will define catwalks and campaigns for seasons to come. Working with some of the industry’s newest and most talented photographers, and with a host of the world’s biggest and best modeling agencies, we have compiled a world-class intimate and iconic introduction to beginnings of something amazing: the Faces of Tomorrow."

For their launch issue, they will be featuring 25 up and coming models boasting cool shots and exclusive interviews making this magazine a much more interesting one. "Our photographers have shot guys in London, Milan, New York, Germany, Amsterdam, and Madrid. For some it was their first time, for others they managed to fit us in between pumping Milan schedules and shoots with Hedi Slimane, but all are either destined to be huge, or are on the verge of becoming it this very second."
