Lanvin Leather Biker Jacket

December 15, 2010 |

If you’re in need of a rebellious (or punk as they say) jacket with a budget to spend on, you got to get this leather biker from Lanvin. Here’s the thing, Alber and Lucas really know how to make a man drool and cry! Now available at Browns.

Club Monaco for Browns

November 6, 2010 |

London-based retailer Browns announces a unique partnership with North American retailer, Club Monaco. The joint venture will introduce a collection of Club Monaco’s signature men and women’s apparel and accessories in Browns’ Shop 24, Browns Men and also online at brownsfashion.com. For men’s collection expect “washed-down deconstructed blazers in twills, canvas and chambrays layered on top of ticking stripes, indigo work shirts and oversized sweaters.” The men’s collection will take over the entire ground floor of Browns Men store. The three points of distribution will launch simultaneously on February 11, 2011.

Everything seems to be usual except for the patch detail which stopped my visual motion and took my breath away. From Junya Watanabe's fall/winter 2010 collection, this black jacket with faux leather patch detail on both shoulders and on the outside of both sleeves is an exciting enhancement of this tailored piece. Seeing myself of this on a more casual getup rather than a perfectionist formal look, it's, again, an exciting tailored piece. Get it here.

Miharayasuhiro for Puma MY-51

August 30, 2010 |

From the Miharayasuhiro and Puma collaboration comes this interesting hi-top sneaker named MY-51. Looking hybrid-ish in a unique form of combination, the front part has a flat white rubber sole and patent black leather upper while the heel part comes in solid rubber. Both brand logos are seen in the shoe tongue, silver stitched PUMA sits on the patent leather ankle strap while Miharayasuhiro stud adorns the outside edge of the shoe. The collaborative shoe can now be purchased at Browns.

If there could be anything to be change or to be bought this summer, I highly recommend this weekender bag from Jil Sander. In bowling bag style, the sophistication is felt from the packaging of three aspects: the black leather's right gloss, gold metal hardwares, and the silhouette. Perfect for short travels or ambush escapades, imagine an effortless look with the irony if this bag. Get it at Browns.

Lanvin Leather Trench Coat

July 25, 2010 |

This one's a perfect splurge or another reason to blink those eyes while purchasing. I love how Lanvin evolves to something Japanese aesthetic. The woolen sleeves and the leather combo looks extremely tough and, needless to say, edgy. Though we don't have to guess how much this would cost as it would be pricey if you're looking for plain functionality, still it's Lanvin and we're talking about the whole package here. Available at Browns.

Dries Van Noten Leather Messenger Bag

July 14, 2010 |

For that off duty look, here's a messenger bag from Dries Van Noten that looks perfect to blend with the said motif. A common take of the normal shape or silhouette, the bag goes with noticeable leather strap key holders adding a cool touch of it - more of youthful. Get it at Browns.

Miharayasuhiro Suede Sandal Boot

April 15, 2010 |

The movement of fashion innovation is continuously ascending and I am excited for the day when footwear like this would become plain as Jane to the majority, or, become boring and has a lot of revamped versions. But staying to our present time, this would be appreciated by several people for sure. It's not that the style is quite unconvincing for some but it isn't too familiar for them yet. As I call myself a "menswear addict", the greatest thing about the whole perspective is that I could easily sort out things that are uniquely beautiful to uniquely ugly. And this one's on the positive side of course.

A perfect addition to that summer look, this black and brown sandal with black suede boot from Miharayasuhiro is a minimal semi-hybrid footwear. "A leather strap rests over the toes. Lace-up detail. Stacked flat sole. Suede detail reaches mid calf." The design is interesting as the rear part of the sandal is a replica of the formal leather shoe complementing the whole unique layout. Available at Browns.

I don't know what to say but I nearly cried for this after seeing the whole look. I have been a big fan of Lanvin for quite sometime already and this made it even worst. Seriously! And to Browns, cheers to your new stocks. I wasn't able to visit the online store lately but seriously, when I came across with the products, the amazement was overflowing and the excitement, even if I didn't come to order, was non-stop. Well anyway back to the sandals, the trashy combination of cords, ribbons, and threads, improperly intertwined aren't that annoying at all. I love how it evokes different feel, a bohemian maybe or another colorful ethnic style. Coming in two colors, you can see the difference when looked closely on the macramé patterned details. Get it here.

From Margiela with love. This leather vest with gold, silver, and rose tone chain details looks unfixed and semi-abstract with it's flower-like design. Partially covered due to the design, a breast pocket sits to the left side as well on the either side of the waist. Buttons, black poppers. Now available at Browns.

Right at this very moment, TheSouthSider will start featuring some good stuffs found over the internet (definitely will include online stores and even blogs) every Sunday of your life. From delectable to really bizarre selections, expect some random things that will pop out the windows of your screen and entertain your awful needs, if you're high though.

And to make this the first Sunday of the WGS feature, let me show you this really cool Alexander McQueen Gladiator Sandals. Coming in with patented blue color and really gladiatoric (invented word) design, the silhouette is somehow the same with the ones you see on female versions. There are skull designs on the sole, which will be badly covered, and lace up detail supporting the rib-like structure. Now available at Browns.

Minimal yet futuristic, Kris Van Assche's love for black and white is obvious on this two tone high neck shirt from Dior Homme. Coming in with functional concept and interesting fold over style to accentuate the white on the underside, this one's truly versatile as it could blend in on any motif. I'm a big fan of black by the way, the dominating color will surely look good on you. Trust Kris Van Assche, it's a basic. Now available at Browns.

Balenciaga High Top Felt Trainers

September 24, 2009 |

Here's an interesting high-top trainer from Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2009 collection that has captured my attention. Greatly mixed with the unusual use of felt along with rubber and leather, the cloth complemented with colors navy and beige making it a much more edgy sneaker. Also, take notice on the unknown circular details on the ankle support. Now available at Browns.

These interesting boots from Martin Margiela's F/W 2009 collection shows a new way on how leather boots should be. Coming in from motorcycle inspiration, don't you ever think you're wearing designs for jacket as it is dedicated for the sneakers. "The top of the boot is attached by Velcro. Two Velcro-fastening straps also sit on the top right of the trainer. Trainers have a round toe and a rubber sole. The top of the trainer finishes just above the ankle." Now available at Browns.

Ann Demeulemeester Sequined Jacket

August 31, 2009 |

This black wool sequined jacket by Ann Demeulemeester is an interesting addition to that evening semi-casual motif. Sequins on this jacket didn't feature intricate patterns nor colorful designs but it was splattered throughout the jacket for shinier approach. Very chic and wearable it would be delightful if you pair this up with black trousers and button up shirts. Now available Browns.

Golden Goose Bronze Star High Tops

August 27, 2009 |

A cool rugged sneakers with interesting details would be the perfect description for this Golden Goose trainers. Coming in with bronze stars and rivet details on both sides, i love the whole concept of these high tops specially on the dirty approach of the rubber sole. Additional details include inside zip, lace up style and rounded toe. Now available at Browns.

Lanvin Leather Wool Lace-Up Boots

August 16, 2009 |

Perfect addition to that Autumn/Winter ensemble, these boots from Lanvin will keep up that drop down temperature looks. Coming in with wool almost covering the upper part contrasting to the black leather, it's going to be a perfect combination of details for that cold season. This lace-up knock-out boot is now available at Browns and tuck in those slim fit pants for a much more edgy look.

We've seen some high-tops from Ann Demeulemeester but these rugged feel trainer surely is another exciting addition found at Browns. With a much more casual look, the three buckle straps running up the ankle of the trainer complements to the unpolished black leather. Black zip on the inside of the boot is interesting along with the silhouette of the trainers capturing a modern and a wearable militaristic concept.

Junya Watanabe Blue Cotton Jacket

August 6, 2009 |

You may have seen similar looks from collaborative pieces of Junya Watanabe but this blue cotton jacket has the exciting twist coming in from the fall/winter wardrobe essential. The domination of blue has extremely flamboyant details including brown cord collar, navy and green tartan panel, sand color on back and lining and grey wool elbow pads. With unique details making a synonymous approach to Junya Watanabe, this absolutely fun and vibrant jacket is now available at Browns.
